Why Choose a Timber Fence?

Timber fencing is the most popular choice on the Sunshine Coast — here's why.

Natural Look

Timber brings warmth and character that Colorbond can't match — it works with any home style from Queenslander to contemporary.

Full Privacy

Lapped & capped fencing gives you 100% privacy — no gaps, no sightlines. Perfect for backyards, pools, and street frontages.

Built for QLD Weather

We use stainless fixings, proper post-footing, and H3/H4 treated timber rated for the Coast's wet summers, humidity, and reactive clay soils.

Fast Installation

Most residential fences done in 2–3 days. We arrive on time, work clean, and don't leave a mess behind.

5-Star Finish

Every fence is checked for straight lines, tight joins, clean capping and consistent colour — we take pride in the details.

Licensed & Insured

QBCC licensed, fully insured, and owner-operated. Your property is protected from the moment we start.

Timber Options

The right timber for your budget, your block, and your look.

Best value

Treated Pine (H3/H4)

The most popular choice — affordable, durable, and takes stain or paint well. H4 treated for in-ground posts, H3 for above-ground rails and palings. 15–25 year lifespan.

Premium pick

Hardwood (Spotted Gum)

Premium natural look with rich colour variation. Naturally durable — no chemical treatment needed. Very strong, excellent for tall fences and retaining-wall combinations. 30+ year lifespan.

Maximum durability

Hardwood (Ironbark)

The toughest timber we work with. Deep red-brown tones that grey off beautifully. Extremely resistant to rot and termites. 30–40 year lifespan. Best for exposed, high-wind sites.

Termite resistant

Cypress Pine

Naturally termite-resistant with a distinctive golden colour and pleasant scent. Mid-range price, good durability. Popular for post & rail and rural fencing. 20–25 year lifespan.

What Our Customers Say

Josh built 32m of lapped & capped for our property in Buderim. Showed up when he said he would, finished in two days, and the fence looks amazing. Neighbours have already asked for his number.

Sarah & Tom M.

Buderim

Had three quotes for a hardwood fence in Noosa. GreenFlow wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but Josh actually took the time to walk me through the timber options and what would work best for our block. The finished fence is rock solid.

Mark R.

Noosa

Our old fence blew over in the storms last summer. Josh came out the next day to measure up and had the new one done within the week. Treated pine lapped & capped — completely transformed the backyard. Highly recommend.

Timber Fencing FAQs

What timber do you use for fencing?+
We primarily use treated pine for its durability and value, and hardwood (spotted gum, ironbark) for premium finishes. All timber is H3 or H4 treated for ground contact where needed, rated for Queensland's climate — sun, rain, and humidity.
How long does a timber fence last on the Sunshine Coast?+
A well-built treated pine fence lasts 15–25 years with basic maintenance (occasional clean and re-oil). Hardwood fences can last 30+ years. We use stainless steel fixings and proper post-footing techniques to handle the Coast's wet summers and reactive soils.
What's the difference between lapped & capped and standard paling?+
Lapped & capped has overlapping palings (lapped) so there are zero gaps — total privacy — plus a capping rail on top for a clean, finished look that also protects the palings from rain. Standard paling fences have small gaps between palings and no top rail. Lapped & capped costs more upfront but looks premium and lasts longer.
Do I need council approval for a timber fence?+
Most residential timber fences under 2m don't need approval on the Sunshine Coast. If your property is in a heritage overlay, flood zone, or you need a fence over 2m, we'll help you navigate the council process. We know the local rules in Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Council, and Moreton Bay Council.
How long does installation take?+
Most residential timber fences (15–30m) take 2–3 days. Longer runs, difficult access, or retaining-wall combinations may take 3–5 days. We'll give you a clear timeline with your quote.
Can you match my existing fence style?+
Yes — we match existing fencing across all styles: lapped & capped, picket, post & rail, slatted, and custom designs. We'll match the timber species, profile, height, and finish so the new section blends seamlessly.
